Set it in three steps

  1. Find the corrector. It's either a small recessed pusher on the side of the case (press it with the tool that came with the watch or a wooden toothpick, never a metal pin) or one of the crown positions. Your manual says which.
  2. Centre the full moon. Press the corrector until a full moon sits exactly in the middle of the window.
  3. Press it 29 more times. That's one press for each day since the last full moon on Sat, Sep 26.

Prefer to start from the new moon? Press until the window is empty (no moon showing), then press 14 times.

Before you start

  • Don't use the corrector between about 9pm and 4am on the watch. The moon disc moves at night along with the date, and forcing it then can damage the gears. Check if now is safe.
  • Most moonphase discs advance once a day and drift by about a day every two years and eight months. High-precision displays drift far less, but you set them the same way.
  • The disc here shows the moon as seen from the northern hemisphere, which is how most watches show it.
